Contemplation of the Forest is the filmed representation and staging of a forest clearing from different perspectives, negotiating questions of perceptual boundaries as well as sensation and memory.
The first of the two projection screens shows a real-time recording of the clearing. On the opposite
projection, sentences are interwoven with different interpretations of the clearing. Two birdcall imitators develop a dialogue from the chirping of the clearing. Another sequence shows recordings of a xylotheque, and in another a philosopher explains possible knowledge based on congruent perception.
